As Chief Investment Officer, Capital Markets, Ryan Somers oversees all aspects of fundraising, investor cultivation, and capital markets activity at the firm. Ryan has over 30 years of real estate experience and has completed over $6 billion in multifamily transactions during his career. Since joining BCE in 2009, he has directed the acquisitions of 128 properties valued at over $4.7 billion and sourced over $1 billion of invested equity. Over the course of his career, Ryan’s investment expertise has created a multitude of opportunistic ventures, including buying out distressed partnerships, recapitalizing underperforming properties, and acquiring distressed assets, which since have become some of BCE’s top-performing properties. Ryan was integral in the strategy and direction of the prior BCE Funds, which collectively raised more than $240MM of equity.

Prior to joining BCE, Ryan served as Vice President of multifamily sales and acquisitions at RK Properties, a private equity firm in Long Beach, CA. He facilitated the closings of over $500MM in multifamily assets in Southern California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, and Utah. Mr. Somers began his career in real estate as a multifamily specialist in 1994 at the San Diego office of Marcus & Millichap.

Ryan received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Real Estate from San Diego State University.
